BIG CANVAS - Art Journey

Learn and explore how to plan and prep your own ideas, mix a colour palette unique to you, build contrasting layers. 

But also learn the mindful benefits of creating freely on a big scale canvas to create something uniquely yours.

The Art Journey will take place over 4 sessions. 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th February at 9:30am - 12 Noon

We will have examples and other artists abstract work as example to give you inspiration. The art work, theme and colours will be yours to choose. You will be given lots of tips and tricks to make your idea come to life. We will have lots of inspiration to help you but if you want to bring a long a colour palette or photo that inspires this can be really helpful. 

Week 1 (8th February) - Prep and Plan (Learning how to plan our your ideas and build a colour palette unique to you) 

Week 2 (15th February) - Build the Background (Build an interesting background of contrasting shapes and colours) 

Week 3 (22nd February) - Abstract Marking Exploration (Explore many, many different ways you make abstract marks) 

Week 4(29th February)- Details (Using Pastels, Paint Pens, Fine Brushes we'll add a final layer to our piece)

Art supplies included and are your to keep. (Art supplies valued at $60)

Please bring your own art supplies to us in each session (listed below)

Oil Pastels, Acrylic Paint Pens, Fluro Paint and Metallic Paint will be provided to use thoughout the sessions. 

Note: - You will need to take your canvas and art supplies home with you after each session 

If you are supplying your own art supplies we recommend the following 

- Acrylic Paints (Brands such as Mont Marte, Chromocyl, Liquitex, Atelier, Jo Sonjas, Matisse please not all acrylic paint is the same) 

- Colours - Warm and Cold Blue, Warm and Cold Red, Warm and Cold Yellow, Black, White 

- White Gesso 

- Different size paint brushes (1 at least 50mm wide) 

- Paint Palette
